Geo-Engineering VS. Genetic Engineering
At the very beginning the Bible describes a temperate environment where Adam and Eve don't notice being naked. If Adam and Eve start consuming snakes, they begin taking apart the threads of life on Earth. This would force adaptations such as thicker hair and improvisations such as clothing.
Over time we see the adaptations have very short term value and are very slow in coming. Also in gaining one adaptation it seems we give up another, until the combining better adaptations, often finding them incompatible, as the language at the tower of babble. Also measurement of changing genetic beings, has proven impossible with many variables and unpredictable needs.
Improvisations often have lasting value and can be changed quickly.
Could the world be returned to its temperate state, with a better understanding of what life wants, rather than adjusting the life for "extreme" conditions, that are hardly extreme, most known life still couldn't even handle a hundred degree temperature shift when we know huge temperature shifts are possible. Extremophiles or, creature who can handle environments other life can't, already exist and they may be the bacteria that seeded our life, but are certainly not the peek of our evolution as humans.
Improvisations are about having the best of both worlds, hot, cold, running water, indoor, outdoor, choices of environments. Geo-engineering brings us our desires, with lasting results and protection.
Genetic engineering is not a new thing, it is sped up with advancements, but still fails to fill unseen places, creating unforeseen niches, for dangerous over-growth. It is better to suit the space for the plants, animals, and fungus, than it is to create plants, animals, and fungus that can live in such horrible conditions, they make humans ill.
