Origin of Gas Attack Chemicals Suggests Jordan Not Syria

Geographically I note that Syria does not have a big pool of death called the Dead Sea. The lowest point appears to be near the Sea of Galilee, which appears to be full of life. How would Assad get the chemicals found in the Dead Sea, if he did not get them from Jordan? Why would Assad gas his own people and risk loosing support, in the war against Jordan? It would appear the Jordan.
